When you play Ember Knights, you will eventually encounter these black spheres, called relict spheres. They are useless during the passage of areas, instead you need to talk to Esper to learn more about them.
What do relics in Ember Knights do?
You need to talk to Esper the next time you die after you find the relict sphere. He will take it, and the new relic will be unlocked as a possible find during your gaming process. For the first time, when you rent a relict sphere, you show how many more monsters you need to kill before you can find another.
A certain number of monsters is required to fall out another relict sphere. The new relic opens with each found relict sphere, and the number of monsters that you need to win is increasing. New relics are no better than old, just they have other bonuses to characteristics. In no case, we would not consider them revolutionary.
Collecting relict areas does not add a relic to your collection as detected. The relic is still needed to pick up before it is added to your collection as a discovered relic.
